Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Hand Therapist to join our Staff Bank pool. This part-time role focuses on delivering specialist hand therapy assessments, splinting, and patient-centred care within a hospital setting.

The post involves carrying a patient caseload, contributing to MDT discussions, and supporting clinical decision-making for discharge planning. NHS experience and advanced clinical reasoning are valued in this Band 6 position.

Qualifications

• Senior Hand Therapist role within NHS Staff Bank pool.
• Experience in complex hand therapy and splinting is desirable.
• Ability to prioritise and manage a patient caseload in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Carry and prioritise own patient caseload and supervise instructors and students.
• Perform specialist therapy assessments with advanced clinical reasoning.
• Attend consultant outpatients clinics and assess/treat patients as needed.
• Apply standard assessment tools and expertise in specialized splint making.
• Communicate complex information to patients and carers and gain consent.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings as hand therapist representative for MDT discharge plans.
