Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a part-time Senior Hand Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist) based at Queen's Hospital, Burton. You will manage your own caseload and provide specialist assessment and treatment for a range of hand conditions following surgery, trauma or degenerative disease.

Qualifications

• Experience in hand therapy.
• Experience supervising others.
• Band 5 experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Communicate with MDT, Consultants, GP's to support diagnosis.
• Planning with team leader for service provision and development.
• Works as an autonomous practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload, planning and prioritising patient care.
• Provide specialist assessment and treatment, using clinical reasoning to manage hand conditions.
• Work collaboratively with the hand therapy team, therapy administration team, fracture clinic and orthopaedic multidisciplinary team.
• Provide support to Band 5 therapists, students and therapy assistants.
• Contribute to training and service development within the hand therapy service.
