Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Hand Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist) for a part-time Band 6 post based at Queen’s Hospital, Burton. You will join the outpatient hand therapy team and manage referrals with consultants and hand specialists across Derby and Burton.

The role offers training, clinical supervision and opportunities to contribute to service development.

Qualifications

• Experience treating patients with acute hand injuries, degenerative hand conditions or following hand surgery.
• Team provides care for adults and children and works with consultants at Queen’s Hospital and hand specialists across Derby and Burton.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload, planning and prioritising patient care.
• Provide specialist assessment and treatment for hand conditions including post-surgery rehab, fractures and trauma.
• Work collaboratively with the hand therapy team, therapy administration team, fracture clinic and orthopaedic multidisciplinary team.
• Provide support to Band 5 therapists, students and therapy assistants.
• Contribute to training and service development within the hand therapy service.
