Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant in Haematology with a broad training in clinical and laboratory haematology. The post involves on-call duties, clinics at Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Hospital, and participation in teaching and departmental MDTs.

The post holder should hold GMC specialist registration and a CCT or be within six months of award, with opportunities to develop a specialist area of interest.

Qualifications

• GMC registration or eligibility to practise at date of interview.
• CC T or within six months of award; UK-trained or equivalence evidence for non-UK trained.
• Experience in leadership, teaching and audit within haematology.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-call rota providing clinical support.
• Undertake clinics at Royal Blackburn site and Burnley General Hospital.
• Contribute to undergraduate and Core Medical Trainee teaching.
• Lead in haematology subspecialty area and engage in MDT activities.
