Job summary

Evolve Staffing Ltd. is recruiting a Consultant Haematologist for a highly regarded NHS Foundation Trust in Bristol. The role covers clinical haematology and laboratory haematology, managing malignant and non-m malignant disorders within a level-3 BCSH-accredited MDT.

The post involves leading MDTs, driving clinical trials, and supervising trainees as part of a multidisciplinary team. GMC registration and FRCPath qualifications are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration and entry on the Specialist Register for Haematology (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR).
• FRCPath or equivalent medical qualification.
• Extensive clinical experience in both clinical patient management and laboratory diagnostic haematology.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical management for inpatients and outpatients with haematological malignancies and coagulation disorders.
• Oversee laboratory haematology services, blood bank operations, and validation of complex blood films and bone marrow aspirates.
• Lead and contribute to regional haemato-oncology MDT meetings to formulate treatment protocols.
• Drive forward clinical trials, research initiatives, and supervision of trainee haematologists and scientific staff.

This dynamic medical vacancy is designed for a clinical expert capable of delivering top-tier care across both clinical haematology and laboratory haematology. The appointed Consultant will manage a complex portfolio of malignant haemato-oncology (leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma) and non-malignant blood disorders, functioning as a key pillar within a level-3 BCSH-accredited multidisciplinary environment.

Core Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide expert clinical management for inpatients and outpatients suffering from diverse haematological malignancies and coagulation disorders.

• Oversee laboratory haematology services, blood bank operations, and the validation of complex blood films and bone marrow aspirates.

• Lead and actively contribute to regional haemato-oncology multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to formulate comprehensive treatment protocols.

• Drive forward clinical trials, research initiatives, and the educational supervision of trainee haematologists and scientific staff.

Essential Candidate Requirements:

• Full GMC Registration and entry on the Specialist Register for Haematology (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR).

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) or equivalent medical qualification.

• Extensive clinical experience encompassing both clinical patient management and laboratory diagnostic haematology.
