Job summary

Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford is seeking a visionary Senior Group Leader, Industry, to steer a transformative plant biotechnology program within the Plant Biology Institute. You will build and lead a top-tier team, shaping research in photosynthesis, carbon assimilation, and nitrogen fixation to enable productive, sustainable agriculture.

You will drive research designed for real-world impact, establish collaborations across EIT and partners, and translate discoveries into commercial

Qualifications

Leader of research group(s) within academia or industry.
Recognised thought leader with a record of high-impact work and collaborations.
Proven ability to build and manage large, high-performing research teams.
Experience delivering long-term strategic research programmes.

Responsibilities

Lead a flagship, rapidly scaling Plant Biology Institute research programme.
Define research directions in photosynthesis, carbon assimilation, and nitrogen fixation.
Recruit, mentor and evaluate Group Leaders, postdocs and PhD candidates.
Develop cross-sector collaborations and translate results into commercial opportunities.
Oversee resources, budgets, and program milestones with a focus on impact.
