Job summary

Verda is building a cloud-scale AI platform and seeks a senior technician for its Newcastle site. You will lead hands-on hardware work on GPU servers, perform diagnostics, repairs, and high-quality cabling, reporting to the Data Center Operations Manager.

You’ll install and maintain GPU infrastructure, assist with complex diagnostics, and mentor junior technicians while ensuring 24/7 uptime and collaboration with network and sysadmin teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in data center or IT infrastructure with hands-on hardware.
• Direct hands-on experience with enterprise GPU servers (NVIDIA Ampere, Hopper, or Blackwell).
• Existing right to work in the UK; able to work shift-based on-site in Newcastle.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain GPU servers, storage, networking equipment, and cabling.
• Diagnose and repair complex hardware faults; perform rack-and-stack and cabling.
• Mentor junior technicians and collaborate with network engineers and sysadmins.
• Support 24/7 shift operations to ensure uptime.
