Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Site Manager to oversee a flagship AI data centre in Newcastle, UK. You will own day-to-day operations, lead on-site teams and manage vendors to ensure reliable and secure infrastructure supporting AI training, inference and HPC workloads.

Reporting to leadership, you will help shape operational standards and support global expansion as the organisation grows its advanced GPU-powered data center capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience managing operations within data center, colocation, hyperscale, cloud or critical infrastructure environment.
• Knowledge of mission critical facilities including UPS, generators, cooling systems and electrical infrastructure.
• Experience leading technical operations, facilities or site teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the day to day operation of the Newcastle data center facility.
• Lead and develop on site Data Center Operations and IT teams.
• Manage vendor relationships, maintenance providers and third party contractors.
• Ensure the availability and reliability of critical infrastructure including power, cooling and IT systems.
• Drive operational excellence through SOPs, MOPs, EOPs and best practice processes.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis and service restoration activities.
• Oversee capacity planning, infrastructure upgrades and site expansion projects.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, security and operational standards.
• Track KPIs relating to uptime, service delivery, operational efficiency and site performance.
• Act as the primary escalation point for site related operational issues.
