Job summary

European Tech Recruit, based in Cambourne, is seeking a Principal GPU Architect to lead GPU subsystems modeling and architectural exploration. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural intent is implemented, verified, and optimized across models, RTL, DV, drivers, and compilers.

The role focuses on cycle-accurate modeling, performance/power/area trade-offs, and driving GPU roadmap discussions for future silicon generations in a fabless semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in GPU/graphics/compute or related architecture.
• Strong experience with cycle-accurate modeling and simulation.
• Solid understanding of Vulkan, OpenGL, DirectX and/or CUDA, OpenCL, Metal.
• Proficiency in one or more modeling languages and scripting for data analysis.
• Experience with profiling tools and workload characterization for GPU compute.
• Excellent written and oral communication to drive cross-team consensus.
• Demonstrated ability to influence roadmap decisions for GPUs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cycle-accurate/performance models of GPU subsystems.
• Use modeling to explore architectural trade-offs and guide microarchitecture decisions.
• Analyze workloads using simulation and profiling to identify bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with model, RTL, DV, driver, and compiler teams to implement intent.
• Provide architectural input to optimize GPU software utilization.
• Develop methods and tools for GPU performance estimation and regression analysis.
• Lead root-cause analysis of performance, power, and bandwidth issues.
• Drive cross-team discussions and influence next-gen GPU roadmaps.
