Job summary

Chainlink Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) platform. You will design and build distributed systems that enable resilient workflow execution and support growth of this flagship product.

You will design, build, and operate scalable platform services and production-grade backend APIs, working with cross-functional teams to drive architectural improvements and platform ownership

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale production platforms.
• Advanced proficiency developing production systems in Go (Golang).
• Experience building production APIs and backend applications serving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong experience designing and operating distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver reliable, high-quality software through rigorous engineering practices.
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and solve complex technical problems.
• Self-driven approach with ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning.
• Excellent collaboration and communication within cross-functional engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate highly scalable platform services that improve reliability and performance of the CRE platform.
• Lead the development of production-grade backend services and APIs that support multiple internal stakeholders and platform consumers.
• Drive architectural improvements enabling vertical and horizontal platform scaling.
• Improve workflow execution durability and platform resilience through rigorous testing and operational excellence.
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver cross-functional platform initiatives from design to production deployment.
• Strengthen platform ownership by reducing silos, improving documentation, and sharing knowledge across engineering.
• Contribute to improving platform reliability through engineering practices aligned with service reliability objectives and measurable operational outcomes.
