Job summary

Informed Solutions are seeking a GIS Architect to shape the architecture and technology direction of innovative GIS-enabled digital services for the public sector. You will lead enterprise-scale geospatial solutions and define strategic standards across the lifecycle from discovery to delivery.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, guide engineering decisions, and stay ahead of technology trends while promoting secure, scalable and resilient services. Hybrid UK-based roles available.

Qualifications

Significant experience designing and delivering enterprise GIS solutions.
Strong software architecture knowledge: distributed systems, microservices, event-driven, serverless.
Experience designing cloud-native solutions using AWS and/or Azure.
Knowledge of GIS platforms and open-source geospatial technologies (PostGIS, GeoServer, QGIS, Leaflet, OpenLayers).
Experience integrating geospatial services into enterprise applications.
Experience mentoring engineering teams.
Experience in Agile teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Define end-to-end GIS-enabled architecture for scalable, secure services.
Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary delivery teams.
Design enterprise GIS solutions leveraging GIS platforms and open-source tools.
Collaborate with Software Engineers, Delivery Managers, and stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
Establish architectural standards, governance, and patterns for delivery teams.
