Job summary

Informed Solutions is seeking a GIS Architect to shape architecture for enterprise GIS solutions across public sector projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, establish standards, and influence technology strategy to deliver scalable, secure services.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing and delivering enterprise GIS solutions in complex environments.
• Strong software architecture knowledge incl. distributed systems, microservices and serverless.
• Experience designing cloud-native solutions on AWS and/or Azure.
• Proficiency with GIS platforms and open-source geospatial tech (PostGIS, GeoServer, QGIS, Leaflet, OpenLayers).
• Experience integrating geospatial services and APIs into enterprise applications.
• Strong knowledge of architecture governance, security and scalability.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring engineering teams and providing technical leadership.
• Consultancy background supporting multiple clients and projects.
• Experience delivering solutions within the UK public sector.
• Familiarity with Digital Service Standard and GDS principles.
• DevOps practices, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/Jenkins).
• Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and OSS geospatial ecosystems.
• Experience defining technical roadmaps and technology strategy.
• Certifications in cloud, enterprise architecture or GIS.

Responsibilities

• Shape end-to-end GIS-enabled digital service architectures.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Design enterprise GIS solutions leveraging GIS platforms & APIs.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Delivery Managers and Data Science teams.
• Establish architectural standards, governance and design patterns.
• Influence technology strategy and tool selection.
• Support client engagement through workshops, estimates and proposals.
