Job summary

WSP in Leeds is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects, providing technical oversight across lifecycles.

You will develop ground models, perform design and analysis for foundations and earthworks, manage delivery, and nurture client relationships while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and ground risk management.
• Experience delivering complex geotechnical design, analysis and interpretation across various sectors.
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery and manage project risks with QA for outputs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Chartered status with ICE or Geological Society, or progress towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on geotechnical projects across lifecycles.
• Lead development of ground models and technical deliverables.
• Oversee investigations, data interpretation and risk management.
• Support business development and client growth strategies.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and engineering geologists.
