Job summary

WSP in London is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. You will deliver technically sound geotechnical assessments, reports and design outputs for a range of projects, while developing ground models and interpretations to inform engineering solutions.

You will plan and supervise ground investigations, manage fieldwork and site data, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of ground risk, site investigation planning and geotechnical interpretation.
• Good knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, engineering geology and geotechnical design principles.
• Experience delivering geotechnical assessments, reports and design calculations within consultancy, contractor or client environments.

Responsibilities

• Delivering technically sound geotechnical and geological assessments, reports and design outputs for a range of projects.
• Developing ground models, geotechnical interpretation and design parameters to inform engineering solutions.
• Undertaking geotechnical analysis and design for slopes, retaining structures, foundations and earthworks, as well as assessments of geological hazards.
• Taking responsibility for managing your own project tasks and work packages, ensuring quality, budget and programme requirements are met.
• Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams, acting as a trusted technical contributor.
• Planning and supervising ground investigations, managing fieldwork activities and interpreting site data.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and engineering geologists, sharing knowledge and contributing to the development of the wider team.
• Driving innovation in project delivery through the application of sustainable design practices and the effective use of digital and 3D data solutions.
