Job summary

Sweco UK is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead a diverse geotechnical portfolio from our Manchester office. The role blends technical leadership with project management across highways, water, energy, and development sectors in the UK.

You’ll join an experienced team providing geotechnical design, ground investigations, and construction support, with flexible hybrid working and opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Has knowledge and/or experience of the management of projects, both financially and technically.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) / Geologist (CGeol) status.
• Experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, construction supervision and administration.

Responsibilities

• Input to technical elements of Project Management Plan and deliverables.
• Produce design deliverables (calculations, drawings, sketches, reports) to achieve optimal engineering solutions.
• Review and validate design inputs; manage RFI process with the Project Manager.
• Attend internal project start-up and review meetings; support project close-out with client.
