Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Leicester is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to take technical ownership of a diverse portfolio of geotechnical projects within a growing team. You will manage site investigations through design and construction, mentor junior engineers and contribute to business development while delivering reports and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Significant experience in geotechnical consultancy.
• Experience managing ground investigations.
• Understanding of UK ground conditions and standards.
• Experience producing interpretative ground investigation reports.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design for foundations and earthworks.
• Chartered status or working towards it is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing and delivering geotechnical projects from site investigation through to design and construction.
• Planning, specifying and overseeing ground investigation works.
• Preparing and reviewing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
• Undertaking geotechnical calculations and design work.
• Providing technical advice to clients and project teams.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and other engineering disciplines.
• Supporting and mentoring graduate and junior engineers and developing the team.
• Contributing to business development and maintaining client relationships.
