Job summary

Engine by Starling is seeking a Senior / Staff GCP Security Engineer to own security foundations across our Google Cloud Platform environment. You will partner with infrastructure and security teams to build secure, scalable cloud security, automate controls, and drive continuous compliance across PCI DSS, 3DS, and related standards.

The role combines hands-on engineering with security architecture and governance, in a hybrid London-area setting.

Qualifications

• Mature understanding of cloud security architecture with deep expertise in GCP
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code

Responsibilities

• Design, document, build and maintain secure, scalable GCP infrastructure (GKE, Compute Engine, Shared VPC)
• Lead incident response and security audits, triage risks and define corrective actions
• Ensure secure user access, authentication and authorization across cloud environments
• Drive security deployments across growing environments and integrate with CI/CD
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud security architecture and governance
