Job summary

Opticore IT is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to deliver and operate GCP foundational services for a large enterprise financial services client. You will work with embedded Google architects to implement architecture changes and enable cloud deployment at scale.

The role is a 6‑month contract (Inside IR35), with 1 day per week on site in London. You will split time between project delivery and operational support, building Terraform-driven infrastructure, managing VPCs, and deploying

Qualifications

• GCP architecture and broad engineering experience with GCP services.
• IaC with Terraform for org hierarchy, folders, projects, IAM, networking.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for infra and policy as code.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and implement foundational services in GCP landing zones.
• Design and build Terraform-driven infrastructure across the GCP org.
• Build and own CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and policy as code.
• Own changes from architecture review and produce runbooks for operations.
• Split time ~50/50 between project delivery and operational support.
