Job summary

Sphere Digital Recruitment is seeking a DevOps Consultant / Platform Engineer in London on a hybrid basis for an initial 6-month term, with start ASAP.

You will assess and improve the GCP architecture, design CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, build observability tooling, and drive security, reliability and scalability across the platform while working autonomously to shape technical direction.

Qualifications

• Strong DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Infrastructure experience.
• Proven Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise.
• Terraform and IaC expertise.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring, observability, logging and alerting tools.
• Cloud security and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and improving the existing GCP cloud architecture.
• Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Building monitoring, logging, alerting and observability capabilities.
• Improving platform reliability, scalability and operational resilience.
• Implementing cloud security best practices across infrastructure and deployments.
• Developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Supporting engineering teams with platform strategy and operational improvements.
• Driving best practice across DevOps, cloud operations and platform engineering.
• Identifying operational bottlenecks and implementing scalable solutions.
