Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time substantive Consultant Gastroenterologist to join the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Directorate across Royal Hallamshire and Northern General Hospitals.

The post includes a 10 PA job plan with both direct clinical care and SPA; the successful candidate will participate in on-call rotas, contribute to teaching, research and governance, and support service development.

Qualifications

• Endoscopy experience for 5 years with appropriate JAG accreditation.
• Broad clinical experience in the general aspects of the post.
• Advanced training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Nutrition, or Endoscopy.
• Experience of teaching medical students and resident doctors.
• Active participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology on-call and GI bleeding rotas.
• Contribute to teaching, research, clinical governance, quality improvement and service development.
• Manage or contribute to outpatient clinics and ward rounds as part of the 10 PA plan.
• Support professional activities (SPA) and admin duties as required.
