Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Java Engineer in London to help shape our FX technology team. You’ll implement cross-border payments and custody solutions using modern cloud-native tech and CI/CD workflows, focusing on automation and scalability.

You will collaborate with sales, trading, quants and product teams to understand payments needs and deliver data-driven solutions, while mentoring junior engineers and improving the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a STEM field is required or equivalent.
• Proven software engineering experience in Java, Spring and low-latency FX systems.
• Strong SQL/database skills and messaging (Kafka) experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver cross-border FX payments solutions using cloud-native tech and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with users across FX, technology, and business units to translate needs into data-driven features.
• Mentor juniors and contribute to best practices and high-quality software.
