Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of business-critical applications, services and integrations supporting teams across the charity. You will work across the full technology stack, building modern React and Next.js applications, Node.js services, APIs and cloud-based AWS solutions.

You will play a key role in maintaining and improving systems that enable colleagues to deliver their best work while helping shape engineering

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Experience building APIs and working with AWS or similar cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Developing and supporting full stack solutions using TypeScript, React and AWS.
• Designing and maintaining APIs, backend services and cloud-based integrations.
• Taking ownership of applications and services within our Corporate Operations portfolio.
• Supporting and modernising existing and legacy systems.
• Improving reliability, security, performance and maintainability.
• Contributing to engineering best practice and continuous improvement.
