Job summary

Recourse AI Ltd in Manchester is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to build user-facing features on our React frontend and Python backend. Reporting to the CTO, you will shape product decisions, lead architectural work, and mentor other engineers as we scale our voice AI capabilities used by clinicians and life sciences teams.

You will own significant platform initiatives, drive reliability and performance, and collaborate with product, design and data teams across the stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and shipping production applications, preferably using React/TypeScript and Django/Python.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP.
• Track record of owning complex features or systems from design through release and production support.
• Strong system design skills with ability to reason about trade-offs.
• Experience setting technical direction and unblocking complex work.
• Experience mentoring other engineers through design discussions and code reviews.
• Strong cross-functional communication with non-technical stakeholders (Content, Sales, Customer Success).
• Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system architecture, distributed systems.
• Good judgment applying best practices with AI coding assistants.
• Bonus: CI/CD, Terraform, GKE, ArgoCD

Responsibilities

• Own significant product and platform initiatives from discovery through design, implementation, rollout and operation.
• Lead design and architecture of services and platform capabilities.
• Build end-to-end solutions focused on reliability, performance, scalability, observability, and maintainability.
• Triage, diagnose, and resolve technical issues and bugs with root-cause analysis.
• Identify and drive improvements to keep the platform robust as we scale to enterprise customers.
• Raise engineering quality through system design, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor and support engineers to take ownership and make strong technical decisions.
