Job summary

Citi in Belfast is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build the Securities Settlements Stock Record platform, scaling for high trade volumes and improving data quality. You’ll work across NAM and EMEA, collaborating with tech and business leadership to deliver secure, scalable software.

The role emphasizes backend/microservices with Java/Spring, frontend work with Angular/React, and cloud-native, containerized DevOps in a hybrid setup with up to two days remote per week.

Qualifications

• Proven relevant experience in a full-stack development role.
• Excellent problem-solving skills in fast-paced, agile environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
• Experience with agentic AI driven workflows.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java J2EE and Spring based technology stack.
• Hands-on SQL, Oracle database.
• Expertise in system design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with trunk-based development, feature flags, and progressive delivery strategies.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience conducting code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and secure coding.
• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Good to have hands-on experience on Kafka
• Good to have Apache Camel expertise

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs using Java/Spring Boot.
• Build SPAs and UIs with Angular/React.
• Model, optimize, and manage relational databases ensuring data consistency.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development activities.
• Ensure code quality and test coverage per Citi standards.
• Package and manage containerized workloads with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Integrate code into automated CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins/Tekton/Harness.
• Lead SDLC activities from requirements to production rollout.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
