Job summary

Citigroup is seeking a skilled full-stack engineer to help build the new Securities Settlements Stock Record platform. You will develop and maintain microservices in Java/Spring, build SPAs with Angular/React, and optimize Oracle databases for high-volume trading data.

You will work across NAM and EMEA with a focus on scalable, secure cloud-native solutions, exercising strong engineering leadership and mentoring junior engineers while leveraging agentic AI workflows to accelerate delivery.

• Excellent problem-solving skills in fast-paced, agile environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or changing requirements.
• Experience with agentic AI driven workflows.
• Hands-on Java J2EE and Spring based stack experience.
• Hands-on SQL, Oracle database experience.
• Expertise in system design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with trunk-based development, feature flags, and progressive delivery strategies.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience conducting code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and secure coding.
• Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Nice-to-have Kafka and Apache Camel expertise.

Responsibilities

• Backend & Microservices: design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot.
• Frontend Engineering: build SPAs using Angular/React.
• Database Design: model and optimize Oracle databases for performance and data consistency.
• AI Assisted Development: leverage AI tools to accelerate development activities.
• Engineering Standards: ensure code quality and test coverage per Citi standards.
• Containerization & Orchestration: use Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift for deployments.
• CI/CD & Automation: integrate into Jenkins, Tekton, Harness pipelines with automated testing and security scans.
• Lead and mentor engineers; conduct code reviews and produce technical docs.
• Manage SDLC phases from requirements to production rollout; assess risk per governance.
