Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow offers a role for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to design, build and deploy secure cloud-native applications across frontend and backend layers. You’ll work within multidisciplinary Agile teams, collaborating with architects, product owners and clients to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key focus areas include delivering APIs and integrations within distributed microservices, using React and Node.js/Java/Spring Boot/Python, and leveraging AWS or Azure

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing full-stack applications.
• Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
• Experience developing back-end services using Node.js, Java, Spring Boot or Python.
• Experience developing and consuming APIs and integration services.
• Experience working with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy modern cloud-native applications.
• Build secure, scalable and maintainable solutions across front-end and back-end technologies.
• Develop APIs, integrations and services within distributed and microservices-based architectures.
• Work closely with architects, engineers, product owners and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution development activities.
• Support code reviews, mentoring and knowledge sharing across delivery teams.
• Contribute to engineering standards, automation, continuous integration and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges while maintaining a focus on quality, security and performance.
• Apply modern software engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle.
