Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable cloud-native applications for UK public sector clients. You’ll work in Agile teams, leveraging AWS, full-stack development, and DevSecOps to meet stringent security and performance requirements.

You will design and implement REST APIs and microservices, build CI/CD pipelines, and mentor junior developers while promoting best practices.

Qualifications

• Active UK Government eSC or eDV security clearance as required by the client.
• Experience with AWS, full-stack development, and DevSecOps.
• Proficiency in modern languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Java, or Python.
• Experience delivering secure, enterprise-grade solutions in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
• Build secure, scalable cloud solutions using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps processes.
• Apply secure coding practices, IAM controls, encryption, and monitoring for public sector security and compliance.
• Design and integrate REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimise performance, resilience, and cloud costs.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, security specialists, and stakeholders to deliver business-aligned solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and promote engineering best practices.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
