Caterpillar Inc. in Peterborough, UK is seeking a Fuel Systems Senior Engineer to lead design and development of high-pressure common rail fuel systems for next-generation engines.

You will collaborate with global suppliers and production facilities to deliver robust solutions from concept to production. The role requires hands-on engineering leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on quality, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of High-Pressure Common Rail Diesel Fuel Injection Systems.
• Ability to adapt documents and presentations for the intended audience.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across design, manufacturing and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the specification and development of new high-pressure common rail fuel systems to meet NPI requirements.
• Collaborate with fuel system technology suppliers to align on functional performance requirements and develop system solutions.
• Plan and deliver fuel system/component development projects to time, cost and quality requirements.
• Assess technical risk through FMEA; define and coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R).
• Investigate and resolve complex technical system issues using 8D methodology.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews with manufacturing, quality and purchasing teams to deliver a production-worthy fuel system design.
• Assess fuel system performance via engine and/or rig bench testing.
