Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited is seeking a passionate Frontend / Web Software Engineer to build scalable frontend systems and improve customer experience. You will work with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node and modern tooling to deliver maintainable software, with a focus on code quality, performance and accessibility.

You will collaborate with product stakeholders, translate requirements into tasks, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while mentoring peers and sharing knowledge across the engineering

Qualifications

• Commercial experience as a Frontend Software Developer.
• Strong knowledge of web development including semantic HTML, CSS, TypeScript.
• Experience with React, Redux, React-Router and testing with React Testing Library / Jest / Cypress / Playwright / Jasmine / Enzyme / Mocha.

Responsibilities

• Profile and optimise code.
• Develop high quality code enabling rapid delivery with CI/CD.
• Translate requirements into tasks and code.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to translate needs into product improvements.
• Lead design discussions and understand domain to drive value.
• Support production systems and perform root cause analysis.
• Mentor others and share knowledge within the team.
• Produce proofs of concepts to evaluate new tools.
