Job summary

Greencore Group in Northampton is seeking a Nut Pod prep operative to ensure ingredients are prepared to the highest quality and safety standards across production lines. You will follow allergen segregation and stock materials efficiently to keep lines supplied on time.

You’ll conduct pre-start checks, maintain accurate documentation, and manage stock, including items nearing expiry and waste, in a busy facility.

Qualifications

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills with clear written and verbal communication.
• Good understanding of food hygiene standards and safe working practices.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in Nut Pod preparation, ensuring ingredients meet quality and safety standards.
• Ensure allergen segregation procedures are followed at all times.
• Supply production lines with correct materials, scanned accurately and delivered on time.
• Complete pre-start checks and related documentation accurately.
• Manage stock, including approaching expiry, concessions, disposals and waste.
• Maintain standards in chilled storage and ingredient prep zones.
• Carry out quality and food safety checks and escalate issues as needed.

What you'll be doing

• You will play a key role within our Nut Pod preparation area, ensuring ingredients are prepared and handled to the highest quality, food safety, and production standards.
• Ensure allergen segregation procedures are followed at all times.
• Supply production lines with the correct materials, ensuring they are scanned accurately and delivered in full and on time.
• Complete all pre-start checks and associated documentation accurately.
• Manage stock effectively, including materials approaching expiry, concessions, disposals, and waste.
• Maintain required standards within chilled storage areas and ingredient preparation zones.
• Carry out relevant quality and food safety checks, escalating any issues promptly to the Line Coordinator.
• Please note that this role involves working with nuts and nut-based ingredients. Due to the nature of the environment, this position may not be suitable for individuals with nut allergies.

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Good understanding of food hygiene standards and the importance of maintaining a safe working environment.
• Ability to demonstrate safe working practices and follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience within a food manufacturing, FMCG, or warehouse environment would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided.
• A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
