Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to improve security, release reliability, maintainability, and operational resilience of banking applications in London. You will lead targeted, hands-on engagements with development teams facing vulnerability remediation, automated testing, and production stability challenges.

The role combines senior software engineering, DevOps, SRE, test automation, and legacy modernization, with roughly 70% hands-on coding and configuration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering with production code ownership.
• Strong Java/JVM and Spring experience required.
• Experience upgrading runtimes and modernizing legacy apps.
• Experience building automated test suites within CI/CD.
• Ability to communicate with clients and lead technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted engagements addressing security, testing, release, resilience and legacy tech.
• Assess code, dependencies, runtimes, CI/CD, observability, and risks.
• Write and review production-quality code and configuration.
• Define remediation plans with priorities and risks.
• Develop unit/integration/contract tests and pipelines.
• Modernize apps and middleware; containerize and deploy.
• Lead workshops and communicate decisions to stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and transfer knowledge.
