Job summary

RE Partners is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join a Deployment Security & Software Reliability team supporting a major financial institution. You will work hands-on with development teams to accelerate secure releases, modernize dependencies, and enhance software supply-chain security.

The role emphasizes Java, CI/CD, containerization, and tooling to improve release speed and safety. Strong collaboration and problem-solving across teams are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Java expertise and modern Spring Boot development.
• Experience with CI/CD, build pipelines, and release processes.
• Experience with dependency upgrades and application modernization.
• Understanding of application security, vulnerability remediation, and software supply-chain security.
• Familiarity with SBOM concepts, CycloneDX, or SARIF.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and improve enterprise Java applications and services.
• Work directly with development teams to resolve barriers to safe and rapid software delivery.
• Modernize applications through dependency upgrades and automated code transformation (Renovate/OpenRewrite).
• Improve CI/CD builds, release processes, and deployment automation.
• Build and improve automated testing and code quality gates.
