Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to improve security, release reliability, and resilience of banking applications. You will engage directly with development teams to remediate vulnerabilities, modernize legacy tech, and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

The role blends senior software engineering, DevOps, SRE, test automation, application security, and legacy modernization, with ~70% hands-on coding and configuration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering focused role requiring active coding and configuration.
• Proficiency in Java/JVM is essential, with strong TypeScript skills for Node.js-centric projects.
• Experience with Spring and modernizing Java enterprise apps is required; recent hands-on coding, debugging, and code review experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted engagements addressing security, testing, release, resilience, and legacy tech challenges with development teams.
• Assess code, dependencies, runtime, test coverage, deployment architecture, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational risks.
• Write, debug, review, and optimize production-quality code and configurations.
• Define modernization/remediation plans with priorities, risks, and measurable outcomes.
• Develop or improve unit, integration, and deployment tests using TDD practices.
• Drive automation using CI/CD and code-review best practices, including AI-assisted tooling.
