Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting for a Flood Risk Engineer within its Water Consultancy Division in the UK. The role focuses on developing hydraulic models and delivering flood risk assessments for major projects, including embankment upgrades and new development schemes.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary team, using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS or ICM and GIS tools to drive high-quality reports, while mentoring junior staff and engaging with clients to manage delivery and risks.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering flood risk management studies.
• Proficient in flood modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS or ICM.
• Degree in hydrology, geography, mathematics, civil engineering or related discipline.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic models to support flood alleviation schemes.
• Analyse data using ArcGIS, QGIS and Python, and produce client reports.
• Mentor junior staff in modelling processes and project delivery.
• Support project management and client engagement.
