Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Flood Risk professional to join our Water Consultancy Division. You will develop hydraulic models to support flood alleviation schemes, perform data analysis and produce client-ready reports.

You will contribute to project delivery while mentoring junior staff and developing your career within a supportive, diverse environment with hybrid working options and a commitment to wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Essential: Experience delivering flood risk management studies.
• Essential: Experience using flood modelling software e.g. Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS or ICM.
• Essential: Degree in hydrology, geography, mathematics, civil engineering or related field.
• Essential: Good communication & written skills.
• Essential: Well organised and able to prioritise work with minimal supervision.
• Essential: Understand health, safety & environmental priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic models to support flood alleviation schemes and flood risk assessments.
• Conceptualise and scope hydraulic modelling approaches.
• Analyse data with ArcGIS, QGIS, Python and Excel.
• Produce and check high-quality client reports.
• Mentor junior staff in hydraulic modelling and project delivery.
