Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Flood Risk professional to join our Water Consultancy Division in a hybrid working role across the UK. You will work on flood risk assessments, economic appraisals, and reservoir studies, helping clients manage flood risk and build resilient infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering flood risk management studies including option appraisals.
• Experience preparing business cases.
• Degree-level qualification in hydrology, geography, economics, mathematics, civil engineering, or related discipline.
• Good communication and written skills.
• Well organised and able to prioritise workload with minimal supervision.
• Understanding importance of health, safety and environmental issues.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and check economic appraisals to support Flood Alleviation Schemes and reservoir studies.
• Prepare business cases to secure funding for Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management.
• Conceptualise and scope hydraulic modelling approaches.
• Produce and check high-quality client reports.
• Mentor junior staff and support client engagement from scoping to delivery.
