Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Flood Risk Engineer to work within the Water Consultancy Division. You will help deliver flood risk assessments and hydraulic modelling to support flood alleviation schemes and reservoir studies, contributing to projects across the UK.

You will work with experienced teams, mentoring juniors and growing your project management and client engagement skills within a hybrid working setup.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering flood risk management studies.
• Experience using flood modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS or ICM.
• Degree in hydrology, geography, mathematics, civil engineering or related discipline.
• Good communication and written skills.
• Well organised with ability to prioritise workload with minimal supervision.
• Prioritise health, safety and environmental issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic models to support Flood Alleviation Schemes.
• Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches.
• Analyse data using ArcGIS/QGIS/Python and Excel.
• Produce and check high quality client reports.
• Mentor junior staff in hydraulic modelling.
