Job summary

Mott MacDonald’s Water Consultancy Division seeks an experienced Flood Risk/ Hydraulic Modeller to join our team. You’ll deliver flood risk studies, build hydraulic models, and contribute to challenging projects across the UK.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and develop your project management and business development skills within a supportive, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering flood risk management studies.
• Experience using flood modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS or ICM.
• Degree level qualification in a related discipline (hydrology, geography, maths, civil engineering).
• Good communication and written skills.
• Well organised with ability to prioritise workload with minimal supervision.
• Understand health, safety and environmental issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic models using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS or ICM.
• Conceptualise and scope hydraulic modelling approaches.
• Analyse data with ArcGIS, QGIS, Python, Excel.
• Produce and check high quality client reports.
• Undertake hydrological assessments including standard methods.
• Mentor junior staff throughout the modelling process.
