Mott MacDonald is recruiting for a Flood Risk professional to join our Water Consultancy Division in the UK. You will deliver flood risk assessments, support the design of flood alleviation schemes, and prepare business cases to secure funding.

Qualifications

• Essential: Deliver flood risk management studies and option appraisals per guidance.
• Essential: Prepare business cases for funding.
• Essential: Degree in hydrology, geography, economics, mathematics, civil engineering, or related discipline.
• Essential: Good communication and written skills.
• Essential: Well organised with minimal supervision.
• Essential: Prioritise health, safety and environmental issues.
• Desirable: Chartered or Incorporated with a professional body (ICE/CIWEM/IMA).
• Desirable: Project management experience.
• Desirable: Engineering design experience.
• Desirable: Professional consultancy experience in flood risk management.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and check economic appraisals to support flood alleviation schemes and reservoir studies.
• Prepare business cases to secure funding for flood risk projects.
• Conceptualise and scope hydraulic modelling approaches.
• Produce and check high-quality client reports.
• Mentor junior staff across scoping to delivery, guiding opportunities and risks.
