Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Hydrologist in the UK to lead hydrological assessments for flood risk management and infrastructure planning. The role supports projects across the UK and internationally and offers a flexible hybrid work model with base in UK offices.

You will deliver flood hydrology studies, apply FEH standards, and generate detailed technical reports while using GIS tools and collaborating with clients and colleagues across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Hydrology knowledge and experience with flood assessment methodologies.
• Good GIS analysis and map production skills.
• Ability to produce clear technical reports for stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce flood hydrological assessments for design of flood alleviation schemes
• Apply FEH guidance to derive flood flows for England catchments
• Produce high quality technical reports
• Use ArcGIS Pro and QGIS to support work
• Technically review hydrological assessments within AECOM
• Build relationships with clients and other disciplines
• Keep up-to-date with methodologies and guidelines affecting services
• Be an active member of the hydrologists and hydraulic modellers community
