Job summary

United Utilities in Manchester is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician or HGV Mechanic to maintain a diverse fleet including HGVs, vans and electric vehicles, based at the Trafford workshop. This permanent, full-time role involves a 48-hour week onsite with competitive benefits.

You will conduct inspections, perform both standard and complex repairs, and develop proactive maintenance plans to reduce downtime and extend asset life, while collaborating with operators and the broader team to optimise

Qualifications

• Experience with vehicle diagnostic equipment and fleet maintenance.
• Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with operators.
• Knowledge of transport and health & safety legislation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Streamline fleet maintenance to ensure cost-effective upkeep of diverse vehicles.
• Collaborate with operators to plan and execute maintenance and repairs.
• Manage vehicle lifecycle including commissioning and decommissioning.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with transport and safety regulations.
• Mentor apprentices and adapt to varying work demands.
