Job summary

United Utilities is seeking a Fleet Technician or HGV Mechanic to join a skilled fleet team. You will be responsible for the upkeep of a wide range of vehicles and electrical/electronic systems, conducting inspections and executing repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 in HGV Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Experience with diagnostic equipment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Willingness to train for a Class 1 HGV licence

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of vehicles and equipment
• Execute both standard and complex repairs
• Develop proactive maintenance plans to reduce downtime
• Contribute to the efficiency and lifecycle management of the fleet

Essential Skills & Experience

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

• City & Guilds Level 3 in HGV Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with diagnostic equipment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Knowledge of transport and health & safety regulations
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to train for a Class 1 HGV licence

Desirable:

• Welding / fabrication (MIG)
• IRTEC qualification
