Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Fire Risk Consultant to lead fire risk consultancy across a broad portfolio, combining technical leadership with clear client ownership in a multidisciplinary environment. You will influence how fire risk services develop and deliver integrated outcomes for clients and communities.

You will oversee complex fire risk assessments, guide clients through regulatory requirements, mentor the team, and contribute to strategic growth of the fire risk service offering

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering and leading fire risk consultancy across multiple sectors and building types.
• Strong technical capability to manage complex issues and review high-level outputs.
• Credible and confident in advising clients and internal stakeholders.
• Experience building and maintaining client relationships.
• Ability to identify opportunities and contribute to winning work.
• Experience mentoring consultants and supporting team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex, high‑value fire risk consultancy work as a senior technical authority.
• Oversee fire risk assessments and related outputs to ensure consistent quality across key commissions.
• Guide clients through regulatory requirements and fire safety improvement programmes.
• Own client relationships, support fee proposals, and contribute to winning new work.
• Mentor colleagues, set technical standards, and develop the team for consistent delivery.
