Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Fire Engineer to lead fire engineering on major Rail and Road infrastructure projects in the UK. The role involves coordinating across disciplines, presenting to authorities, and guiding the design team on safety enhancements.

You will be supported through a bespoke development programme toward chartered status, with opportunities to grow within a global engineering firm and benefit from hybrid working arrangements across Manchester or London offices.

Qualifications

• BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experience within the fire engineering consulting industry.
• Experience in Rail Fire Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Analyse design information and liaise with Facades, Acoustics and Structures teams.
• Present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service; advise on safety improvements.
