Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Control & Development Officer to maintain and develop our critical financial systems. The role involves delivering 2nd line support across Finance ERP, HR, Payroll and Pensions platforms and working within a specialist team to implement improvements.

You will produce specifications, manage upgrades, testing and change processes, and ensure systems remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
• Experience maintaining and supporting business-critical financial systems.
• Ability to explain technical solutions to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience in HR, Payroll, Pensions, Finance or Income Management systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the Council's key financial systems.
• Provide 2nd line support across Finance ERP, HR, Payroll and Pensions systems.
• Develop and implement system improvements and change processes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure system security, reliability and business continuity.
