Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking a motivated Technical Officer to provide first-line technical and operational support for ContrOCC, the system underpinning social care payments. You will act as a key contact for users and stakeholders, diagnose issues, log incidents, and help improve service performance.

The role blends technical troubleshooting with data management and process improvement, working with Adult and Children’s Social Care, Commissioning, Finance, and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Experience of diagnosing and resolving system or process issues.
• Ability to log and manage incidents and requests using established processes.
• Experience of working in Local Government or social care environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support for social care payment systems.
• Act as a point of contact for system users and stakeholders.
• Diagnose technical and process issues and apply known solutions.
• Log, manage, and monitor incidents and service requests.
• Support administration, maintenance, and improvement of payment systems.
• Produce and maintain accurate records and audit trails for performance and compliance.
• Identify recurring issues and propose service improvements with the Senior Technical Officer.
• Support compliance with policies, data protection, and governance.
