Job summary

Marc Daniels in Manchester is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of the full month-end close cycle and lead the management accounting function. The role requires delivering accurate monthly accounts, managing a team of eight and ensuring robust financial controls.

You'll partner with senior stakeholders across the group, drive continuous improvement, automation, and apply UK GAAP/IFRS, supporting budgeting, forecasting and strategic decision-making at a high level.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with UK GAAP/IFRS knowledge.
• Strong post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.
• Excellent Excel skills and ERP systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the full month-end close cycle, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Deliver monthly management accounts with commentary and KPI analysis.
• Line-manage the management accounting team (8) with performance coaching.
• Review P&L, balance sheet, and month-end packs.
• Maintain financial controls and governance across the function.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, audit and compliance.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting with stakeholders.
• Identify process improvements and system enhancements (ERP, reporting tools).
• Provide strategic business partnering to department heads and the executive team.
