Job summary

Legal & General (L&G) is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst on a fixed-term contract based in Cardiff, within the Finance Expense team. You’ll deliver BAU expense management, provide financial insight, and support stakeholders with accurate reporting across international entities.

You will prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations and VAT packs while maintaining strong controls and partnering with colleagues to meet deadlines through to March 2028.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified, part-qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and principles.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain financial information.
• Experience contributing to month-end activity and working to financial deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and posting month-end journals, accruals, payroll entries and cost allocations.
• Producing financial reports and explaining performance, P&L movements and variances to stakeholders.
• Managing intercompany invoices, fund recharges, journals and reconciliations.
• Preparing VAT packs and supporting finance and tax queries for European entities.
• Completing balance-sheet reconciliations and resolving aged or outstanding items.
• Processing supplier, employee and intercompany payments while maintaining an audit trail.
• Maintaining headcount and cost-centre data in finance systems.
• Improving finance processes, controls and ways of working.
