Job summary

Legal & General Group is recruiting for a Senior Finance Analyst on an FTC until March 2028 based in Cardiff. You will join the Finance Expense team, delivering BAU support with a focus on expense management, reporting, and controls for international subsidiaries.

You will provide financial insight to support decision-making, work with European entities on VAT and queries, and contribute to month-end processes while ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or studying towards an accounting qualification.
• Solid understanding of accounting processes and principles.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookup functions.
• Experience contributing to month-end activity and meeting financial deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, payroll entries and cost allocations.
• Produce financial reports and explain P&L movements to stakeholders.
• Manage intercompany invoices, fund recharges, journals and reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT packs and support finance and tax queries for European entities.
• Complete balance-sheet reconciliations and resolve aged items.
• Process supplier, employee and intercompany payments with audit trail.
• Maintain headcount and cost-centre data in finance systems.
• Improve finance processes and controls.

Job Description

We’re recruiting for aSenior Finance Analyst (FTC until March 2028) to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary.

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Finance Expense team in Cardiff, providing BAU support while colleagues are focused on key project activity through to March 2028. You’ll play an important role within Asset Management Finance, working with international subsidiaries and stakeholders to deliver effective expense management, accurate financial reporting and strong financial controls. You’ll also provide meaningful financial insight to help stakeholders understand performance and support informed decision-making.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing and posting month-end journals, accruals, payroll entries and cost allocations
• Producing financial reports and explaining performance, P&L movements and variances to stakeholders
• Managing intercompany invoices, fund recharges, journals and reconciliations
• Preparing VAT packs and supporting finance and tax queries for European entities
• Completing balance-sheet reconciliations and resolving aged or outstanding items
• Processing supplier, employee and intercompany payments while maintaining a clear audit trail
• Maintaining accurate headcount and cost-centre information within finance systems
• Improving finance processes, controls and ways of working

Who we’re looking for:

• AAT qualified, part-qualified or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification
• A sound understanding of accounting processes and principles
• Strong Excel skills, including practical experience of lookup functions
• Experience contributing to month-end activity and working to financial deadlines
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain financial information
• Confidence building effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
• A collaborative approach, attention to detail and resilience
• Accounting-systems or financial-services experience would be helpful but is not essential
