Job summary

Gill Cooke Personnel Ltd T/A The Recruitment Group in Witney is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the engineering and customer service function within a growing specialist manufacturing business. This hands-on role owns day-to-day service operations, managing a team of engineers and delivering excellent technical support to customers in the UK and Europe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' relevant experience in service, engineering or a field-based environment.
• Proven experience managing an engineering or service team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and planning abilities.
• Experience with KPIs, reporting and budgets.
• A proactive, hands-on management style.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of field-based engineers.
• Plan and coordinate installations, service visits and maintenance.
• Manage customer relationships, warranties and service contracts.
• Oversee spare parts, stock, logistics and external engineers.
• Support European distributors and travel within Europe when required.
• Monitor team performance, KPIs, costs and service efficiency.
• Work closely with Sales and other departments to deliver excellent customer service.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
